Did the front disc brake conversion on the drivers side today. It was pretty straight forward bolt on. I also put on the adapter for the 2010 camaro rims.
picking the car up today
well I got a call the other day saying that my car is done. due to some unforeseen circumstances I didn’t get as much done as I would like have. but it runs and can move but still no brakes.
4/11/2012 Engine/Rear in
5.3L Chevy Truck engine is in. Ford 9 inch is hung and just sitting on the springs for now.
12/10/11 Gas Tank
Bought a new gas tanks and sending unit off of ebay. The width is only about 1 inch shorter the the original.
12/20/2011 radiator arrived today.
After careful measurements I found out that a radiator for a 55-59 Chevy truck is very close to the original Buick radiator. Its 2 inches shorter but the same width and I think with slight modifications the side brackets can be made to work. This all aluminium radiator was a lot cheaper then getting the original radiator repaired or having a custom aluminum one made.
11/30/11 Front Disc Conversion and Wheels
I will be putting 2010 Camero SS rims on the car so some modifications had to be made.
The Camaro rims hub is smaller then the Rivera disc conversion rotor so I decided to grind down the hub on the rotor to fit the rim. Also the Rivera Rotor is a 5 x 5 bolt pattern and the Camaro Rim is 5 x 4.75 so I’ll be using some 1 1/2 inch adapter spacers. I did run into a problem that the adapter studs are 12 x 20 and the Camaro is supposed to use 14mm x 1.50 studs. So I’m going to try and drill out the adapters and install the proper 14mm x 1.50 studs.
11/28/2011 – Dropped car off
Today I dropped the car off at Larry’s Extreme Audio & Tint in Port Charlotte for a 5.3L fuel injected truck engine, 4L60E Trans and ford 9″ install.
